Review on 📹 Anpviz NVR4.0 Upgrade: 8CH 4K PoE NVR for IP Home Security Camera System by Seth Torres

TLDR: A small, compact device that is difficult to set up for the less tech-savvy. App and PC software by HikVision. Also a bit overpriced ($151) considering it doesn't come with HD or cameras. You have an existing LaView system that is now failing. Purchased this security system along with several others on Prime Day 2021. The good news is that this system works with LaView cameras that use the HikVision protocol. The device was tested with another camera (JideTech; also bought on P-Day) and it was able to work with the Onvif protocol. Installation is pretty easy, but the tape from the circuit board to the LEDs is too short, so you'll have to walk under the hard drive - not around it. This can cause some problems if something goes wrong. I was able to fully configure it, although many of the options aren't obvious, especially when it comes to encryption and username/password. To access the device remotely, you need to use the HikVision: Guarding Vision software for mobile devices or on a PC via a web browser with a plug-in downloaded from HikVision. For Android devices, the app is available on the Play Store and the plugin is available via a download link from the device page (accessed via IP address). Note that even though the poorly written manual dictates using IE, I was able to get it working with Edge. Remote management requires DDNS - I used no-ip. The app may be difficult to set up and use for some (hence the low Play Store rating), but it's not too difficult to guess and understand for those who are more computer savvy. The video download can be done via the device's webpage. If I decide to keep this compared to my other purchases I will update the review with more information on the various other features (with h/h.265 size, motion detection etc) but I think the will will ended up returning as the purchase price was $151 and other security devices I bought were the same price and included additional cameras.
