I was looking for a magnifying lamp to use at my craft table. This one looked promising, but I've been a bit disappointed in it. The light isn't bright enough to illuminate what you're working on unless it's fairly close to it and then it only if it's directly under it. The base is too small and is unstable on carpet, especially if you have the lamp extended far enough to arch over a table (unless you have the lamp stand against the table to support it). The magnifier has to be close to what you're looking at. It leaves little room to manipulate things under it if you have to move your hands a lot, then things move in and out of focus very quickly. For what it cost, I expected a better design and more usable lamp.
