Availability My 2005 Forester X was having misfires and apparent problems with uneven shifting. I have used these leads with a new Standard Motor Products UF-538 coil and new Revain NGK FR5AP-11 connectors and the problem was completely resolved. So far, so good. The problem is that the pin used to mating with the coil is not very tight and is also on the short side and of course there is no 'click' when mating. I first tried applying dielectric grease to the coil case (DO NOT DO THAT) and the trapped air caused the case to slip off, so I concluded that the friction of the rubber is important in holding things. I cleaned the lube and done. I think the original OEM leads form better at the end of the spool, but I've also noticed that the OEM leads are slightly larger than the UF-538 spool. I wasn't sure if this would fix the problem, but since it did I probably should have stayed with the OEM and paid a little more.
