I bought 7 sets of these lights for a barn wedding. They come without the lamps installed, which is convenient for hanging outside as the lamps themselves are very fragile. When they arrived I opened the box and was pleased with the packaging and the appearance of the string lights. The cords are strong and each pear has short cords with a hole for screwing into wooden beams. Those are good things. For this reason I would NOT recommend these fairy lights. We attached string lights to the rafters in a shed with no bulbs (ceiling 20 feet high) and then installed bulbs. We didn't have power for the cables for safety reasons. . Some of the bulbs didn't stay in the sockets - the sockets were the wrong size and we had to use tape to secure them. Then, when we installed all the bulbs (105 pieces) and turned on the power, there were only 8 glowing bulbs left, which were randomly distributed in the sets. Eventually we found out that the small contact inside the socket doesn't make contact with the bulbs. For the light to work, the electricity had to be constantly cycled on and off so someone could insert their fingers into the socket and pull the contact far enough to touch the bulb and light it up. If it weren't for the wedding in a few days, I'd pack up the fairy lights and send them all back. If we had problems with a few bulbs I wouldn't complain but having 98 out of 105 bulbs that need adjusting is totally unacceptable.
