The flat base has a screw that fits into the vertical part of the tower/cylinder that holds the screen. The screw is apparently 1/8 inch too long because it wouldn't go all the way in. He had no transverse thread. It seemed to go in smoothly for a while and then stop as if it hit the end of a thread/tube. While working on this I found another slightly shorter screw from my spare screw collection that worked fine. It seems Samsung installed the wrong screw size. The picture makes a good impression in the first few minutes of use. The monitor didn't work from my wife's laptop dock, but worked fine on two other computers. Since the dock works with smaller monitors, I suspect it won't be able to run at a higher resolution even if I set Windows to a lower resolution. On the specified dock, Windows recognized the monitor normally as shown in the display settings at 2560x1440, but could not display anything.
