Not much better than a normal corkscrew

This corkscrew works well, but not much better than a normal corkscrew, but in some ways more annoying. used material. The handle on the corkscrew itself is like that very cheap synthetic rubber that in a few years will start to degrade and become covered in a very sticky film (anyone with experience with old electronics knows exactly what I'm talking about). . Why they couldn't just make this pen out of nice plastic instead of using such a terrible finish I don't understand. In use, my main complaint is the amount of "play" or wobble in the rotating mechanism. My device has a runout of about 1/4 inch, which means I have to be very careful when I start screwing it into the cork, otherwise the screw will be so far off center that it will break the glass bottle meets. The goal of this style of corkscrew is that I don't have to pay too much attention to the process - if you focus 100% on the thinking, the standard corkscrew is both more accurate and quicker to use. for foil cutter. I really can't believe this one doesn't have one. Every bottle of wine I've opened has a cork covered in foil. A foil knife can be considered a "must" when opening a corked wine bottle. The lack of a foil cutter on this corkscrew requires a second tool in addition to this corkscrew! In my opinion, most people are better off with a good standard two-stage corkscrew than this folding corkscrew. For people with arthritis, this may be a good option as it offers more leverage (and therefore less pressure on the hand) than a traditional one. Corkscrew. However, there are other types of units with even better leverage ratios than this unit.
