I ordered this because it has an angle function and I thought it would work right out of the box but it doesn't. The directions book is part of Cr*%#*p. The best way to get an instruction manual is to go to YouTube and search for it, but even a video won't explain all the problems with it. I wanted to test it before using it because I didn't want to mess up the engine I'm building. First, it kept turning itself off before I could do anything about it. I took out the 2032 batteries and they tested 2.7 volts. They should be at least 3 volts or more when new. I have some rechargeable 2032s that test about 4 volts and have them installed. I noticed that the tabs at the bottom of the battery compartment don't put too much pressure on the batteries, so I bent them a bit to make a better connection. Replacing the batteries and tightening the petals solved the shutdown issue for a while but apparently battery eating. When you turn it on, you need to put it on a hard surface and not move it. It flashes zeros in and out and calibrates itself. The motor bolts I want to tighten require a 90 degree turn and a second 70 degree turn. I tried setting the angle to 90 degrees but it kept going back to a different angle setting. When you turn it on for the first time, three letters are visible on the screen. (PTA) (P - peak mode) (T - curve mode) (A - angle mode). P is adjusted to the desired torque. T shows you the actual torque during tightening. A is adjusted to the desired angle. After playing around with the settings I think it's a bug in the programming. To make it work for the angle setting I had to set the Peak Torque P and T Trace Mode to the same value. Actually I don't understand why they made it that you have to set a value for the trace mode. It should only give you a real-time display of the torque being applied. When using the angle setting, the angle is not measured until the torque setting is reached. So when I set the torque to the minimum which is 25 ft lb it doesn't start reading the angle until 25 ft lb is reached. With all the problems I've had with it, it's unusable so I'm sending it back. By the way, when I hold it in my hand, I feel the weight of a stone that could be thrown, what I wanted to do with it.
