Review on πŸ”Œ 6-in-1 USB C Hub: Wavlink Adapter with 3 USB 3.0 Ports, 65W Type C PD Charging, SD/TF Card Reader for MacBook Pro/MacBook Air, Chromebook Pixel, USB C Laptops by Tony Watts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive, well-made USB3.1/2.x hub (no power adapter included), but don't discount yet!

The WAVLINK USB 3.1 Type-C 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub is a great hub when you need to connect more USB devices than the USB ports on your PC. This is especially useful as most PCs currently only have 1 USB 3.1 Type-C adapter and hubs are becoming more important with more devices that support it. This hub does plug into a USB Type-C adapter, but if you already have a small Type-C to USB 3/2 adapter, it'll still get the job done. It has 4 USB ports that easily support all your USB 3.0/2.x devices. While 4 pins only support USB 3.x/2.x ports and not USB 3.1 Type-C without an adapter, USB3.1 is supported. To the right of the ports is a small blue LED that lets you know when the hub is powered on and ready to use. The hub does NOT come with an external power supply and while it will work with most devices such as USB flash drives, connecting mobile devices, etc., it is HIGHLY recommended if you are connecting devices to your LAN such as external hard drives or SSDs or other devices that require higher power consumption, or you want to replace your cell phone or MP# player, you will need to either purchase an external power adapter (also sold separately) or make your own. This requires a 5 volt 2-4 amp power supply (I highly recommend using a full 4 amp power supply. The adapter that plugs into the hub is about 3-3.5mm. I am not 100% as it was difficult to measure the size but if I had to make an educated guess I would say it is a 3.5mm adapter with no center pin but with a center as a whole .Once you connect the external power supply, you can easily connect all of your devices regardless of their power requirements to your computer and may damage the USB bus greater risk of damaging the same device. If you don't know may create your own power supply and be able to test it, I warmly recommend you to play it safe. One thing I've done is I've built a few mini PCs had, the prettiest of which came with a VESA mount to de Secured to the back of my 27" monitor, I used a piece of Velco Stip and placed it on the bottom of the USB hub, and then attached it to the top of the mini PC for easy access. . You can see it in the pictures I added. All in all this is a great 4 port USB3.x/2.x hub for the money! The only reason I downgraded the value to 3 stars was the lack of an included power adapter. Otherwise it's a great hub.
