Just worth the price!

I have a 48 inch wide basketball hoop for life. When shooting perpendicular to the backboard (free throws), a small percentage (5-15%) of my hits fell and landed on the front left/right corner of the base supporting the basket, causing the ball to swing sharply left/right. between 20-50 feet. I first set up chairs to block wild tendencies with limited success. Time spent chasing my wild makeup has cost me a lot of practice time. I bought this ball recoil system hoping it would solve my particular problem. I am happy to report that it is 100% working for my problem. I had to adjust the nozzle to the coil spring as the ball got stuck in the device. Initial setup took less than 1 minute and customization took 1 minute. My basketball hoop easily adjusts from 8ft to 10ft with one hand, allowing me to easily install, remove or adjust the attachment in seconds. I have read both good and bad reviews about this product. The nozzle is perfect for my release of wild buns onto finished baskets. However, this product is not a device that returns the ball perfectly regardless of the distance from which you hit. Don't expect 3 tries to get you back. 15-foot free throws don't come back to you reliably either. This device costs less than $25 and prevents wild-made baskets from swaying wildly. If you want the device to give you perfect balls back, you need to spend $300 or more, NOT <$25! Finally, in the reviews, people talked about the product breaking. Not sure if my model is newer (improved?) but it looks like it won't break at all. The quality is thick plastic that feels very durable. Some people have talked about adding the price of wood and tape to allow for a better return and prevent the ball from sticking to the net/device. Since my device could snap to the rim AND fit over the coil spring, I don't have this problem. But if your basket doesn't have a coil spring, then using a piece of wood and tape should prevent the ball from getting stuck after the basket is made.

Pros
  • Keeps ball on court
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
