Off Brands seems to be just as good?

I have a third party brand on my Garmin 520 Plus. It feels just as good and the build quality is on par with Garmin's at 1/3 the price. I was expecting the usual Garmin quality, but this left a lot to be desired. The only plus is the looks. It would have been easier to swallow for $15. However, my device has an extra layer of protection that I'll probably forget after a few rides.
