IT WORKS WITH MAC - The great thing about the Mac is that it does so much for you automatically. Unfortunately, if the item does not work immediately after plugging its USB port, some Mac users claim that the item is not compatible with Mac. When you go to the Mac System Preferences, you need to go to BOTH the OUTPUT tab and the INPUT tab. Based on some other reviews, they didn't notice the INPUT tab and couldn't adjust it accordingly. Therefore, they claim that the microphone is not working. After making changes on BOTH tabs, this device works perfectly! It has worked great with my Mac Book for many years. No, it doesn't have the 5-star noise cancellation and sound quality of a Bose headset, but you're not paying the Bose price either! a university setting where you want to be at least partially aware of your surroundings. A NOTICE. I use OSX Yosemite but have had the headset for years and have never had a problem with previous versions of Mac OSX.
