These don't swim. ask my child how I know that. ๐คจ
The paddle is relatively well constructed, although the lock to adjust the length isn't as tight as I'd like. I'm sure you can tighten it up, but I can't say for sure because ours is at the bottom of a lake. No, he doesn't swim, despite what others have said. However, it was cheap and I'm considering buying another one. I'll probably put some styrofoam in the handle of the next one so the kids don't lose another one.
