Review on DELTA U1075-PK Chrome Diverter Tub Spout by Jason Mitts

Revainrating 2 out of 5

seems strong; But inconvenient for the user

Nothing is ever easy in the DIY world, is it? The details of this system seem to be made of durable, high-quality materials. I finally got the system working, but it took a lot more work than expected. There are universal kits that are much easier to install than this one. My installation consists of a 5" or 6" copper pipe coming out of the wall, with no threads on the end. To install this delta on this type of pipe, according to the instructions, you will need to take a hacksaw and cut the end of the "3/4 adapter" that connects the pipe and the working end of the delta spout. nice straight line between the threads, but the 3/4" adapter still won't screw into the spout. I had to file the cut end of the 3/4" adapter very thin before screwing it in, and even then had to I really try. Having installed other types of universal faucet spouts from other manufacturers, I can tell you that this hacksaw process is not standard. Any DIY product that requires you to modify it with a hacksaw prior to installation passes the "common sense test" like I don't get it. I would probably not buy this product again. There are more convenient options.
