I have had many dry bags in my life and was very impressed with this pack for the price. The material is very thick and looks very high quality. The external zip pocket on the back is very handy and only time will tell how well it holds up, but so far so good. The front mesh pocket is invaluable for separating wet and dirty items. The convenience of the straps is great, but I'll admit I had to go back to the photos in the listing to determine the best configuration for the setup as there are D-rings on both the top carry handle and the roll up buckle . Both configurations make the backpack uncomfortable but I'm used to them now attaching to buckle D rings and I love this bag! A waterproof cell phone case is also a great gift. I've had several of these and I find it useful not only for keeping my phone dry but also for preventing it from getting lost, leaving it tied to me or whatever. It even takes decent pictures through the bag.
