I didn't understand when I ordered.
so the crystal goes into the bottle and comes in DIRECT contact with the water. I always thought it was bad. Also, oddly enough, the crystal is connected to the part of the base that unscrews and allows you to switch between the two crystals. it's just very weird all around.
