IMPORTANT NOTICE. Do not screw on the mini ball head too tight. This stand is really good, it's a cheap ball head that gives me a headache. The ball head has I'm not sure what the technical term for such a bolt is, but let's call it "double bolt". A 1/4 screw threads into a larger screw, 1/2 I believe. I screwed a mini projector onto the thing, probably too tight. When I unscrewed the projector, the 1/4 screw was stuck, meaning it was unscrewed WITH the projector. So the 1/4 screw moved away from the 1/2 screw. You'd think all it takes is a pair of pliers, but surprisingly, pliers, even those with teeth, have trouble gripping this bolt. I had to use a drill press vise to remove it. To properly use this ball head, you must screw it onto the device you are using, but don't screw it too tight like I did. Then tighten with the bottom knob. You might think this reviewer isn't using common sense. I do not think so. Everyone wants their electronics to be securely attached. The amount of force I used was appropriate. The problem is that the 1/4 inner screw is not tight enough in the larger screw. But i fixed it. Once I managed to unscrew the projector from the vise. Now that the 1/4 screw is loose but secured in a vise, I took the body of the ball head in a vise and screwed the larger screw onto the 1/4 screw a little tighter than the manufacturer. If you don't have a drill vise like I do, then you need to be extra careful when using it. 3 stars.
