Bought as an alternative to a very bulky 1TB backup drive for my Macbook Pro. As a photographer, photos and videos accumulate on my computer at an alarming rate. And because of the high quality of the files, when my entire system starts to slow down, I know it's time for a cleanup. The problem was that having to install an external drive with an independent power supply was just annoying. This little gem has twice the storage and is about a quarter the size of my other drive. I have it within reach of my bed where I do 99% of my editing. Whenever I need to upload or extract files, my Passport drive is very convenient and FAST. RAW files and HD video files transfer seamlessly from my Mac to Passport in no time. For this little black book, ultra-portable really means ultra-portable. If I know I'll be taking a lot of footage that I'll need to delete later, or if I need to extract old photos for editing, throwing my passport in a backpack or camera bag comes in really handy. It's also a relief not to have to find another power outlet while charging my phone, computer and the camera's spare battery.
