I needed a console for my Ram Promaster van due to the lack of convenient storage and ridiculously placed cup holders. I initially skipped this console because of its low height compared to the tall seats in my van. I looked at higher end consoles but they were either very expensive or just didn't give me all the features I needed. So I came back to that. To solve the height problem I built a raised wooden platform to attach it to and since the bottom of the Promaster tilts down when sliding back I narrowed the platform to accommodate this. Finally, a few screws to attach it to the floor and it sits nice and stable and doesn't wobble or slip. Drink holders are now in the most convenient place and the lockable, covered storage compartment is a good size. I keep a medium sized cigar box in there to store a few gizmos and gizmos and there is plenty of free space. A sliding lid is more convenient than a lift lid and less prone to accidental tearing. But keep in mind that this console is made of the same type of plastic but hasn't shown any signs of fragility so far. But who knows what a few years of baking in a parked car in Florida will bring? But for the price it's worth it!
