Review on 99 06 Silverado Sierra Extended Handle by Mike Hernandez

Bought for my 2001 Silverado 1500. Cheap plastic but works great and the price is right. Very easy to install: just loosen the two screws to remove the old one, attach the new one and put the screws back. I've had it installed for about 11 months now. Only problem is there was a small crack under the top screw hole a few months ago, but I may have overtightened it when installing. So far it hasn't affected his work. Would buy again if needed. **Note: Be sure to oil the mechanism in the door while changing the handle! That's probably why it broke in the first place. Mine was becoming increasingly difficult to open before the original doorknob broke. Splashing some WD-40 on the mechanism before installing the new handle makes it MUCH easier to open. Also check/lubricate the hood latch while you're at it.
