Review on ASUS VE247H Gaming Monitor 1920X1080 Backlit 23.6-inch, 76Hz, by Steve Fischer

Great monitor! it is VERY bright, so bright my SyncMaster looks like *****. I bought mine "used" from the "stock offers" section and it is in perfect condition except for a few scratches on the bezel. The contrast is amazing and the picture is much sharper than any of my previous monitors. I was afraid to sacrifice sharpness going from 21.5 to 23.6, but this monitor is much sharper than the old one. No dead pixels, no brightness changes at the edges or anything. Viewing angles are decent both from below and from the side, and the image remains reasonably stable unless you're looking straight ahead. Not so much upstairs. When standing and looking at the screen, you have to tilt it backwards to get the vertical viewing angle. So I would recommend mounting the monitor just above center at eye level. I can't comment on the stability of the stand as I haven't used it. but i am 100% satisfied with the picture and the performance of the monitor. The games are great, the movies look great and my only regret is that I didn't buy 2 of them. Edit: 2 months later, no problems so far. I've looked for "reverse halos" as others have mentioned, but I've never seen halos. Response times are decent enough for any of my games, and movies look great in theater mode. No flickering, dead pixels, etc. One happy buyer so far.
