Forget the gold or millennial disc, this is the real deal. High-quality discs from Taiyo Yuden, today's leading manufacturer of blank DVDs. Every disc I've used burned perfectly at full speed. no bugs, no coasters, no fuss, no fuss. One of the biggest scams is that blank recordable optical discs are not made by the company whose name is on the product label. To make matters worse, the actual manufacturer often changes for different batches. The only way to know what disc you're getting, regardless of the label, is to read the manufacturer's code, which is embedded in each disc. These discs self-identified as TYG03 which were actually made by Taiyo Yuden, exactly what I was looking for. In terms of durability, not a single drive has failed. I lend these CDs out to my friends so they're often passed from house to house and we've never had a single rejection. The first for me and one that makes me very happy. Durability and reliability is a very controversial subject, and I've followed various theories since the first CD recorders became commercially available. Longer aging tests are not possible as these products have not been around long enough to prove that "durability tests" actually work. The most obvious point is disks with a lifespan of hundreds or thousands of years. How can you prove that something can last that long without having such an old device to try out? This is ridiculous marketing nonsense. Taiyo Yuden has stood the test of time. They are the actual makers of many of the 'top brands' that people have been raving about for so long. The problem is that these famous brands swap parts, so you can get a great disc one month and junk the next. Your data is priceless and irreplaceable, do yourself a favor and try these discs (preferably in a modern burner from a reputable manufacturer) and I hope you get results as good as I did.
