Review on Waterproof Mid-Height Hiking Boot For Women - KEEN Targhee 2 by Matthew Carr

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Love the Keen wide toebox

If you suffer from painful metatarsal issues, these mids may be the answer you are seeking. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, degenerative changes in the metatarsal area as well as several other foot problems. Had no idea how I was going to get through the winter here in New England as I live in Birkenstock and Chaco sandals whenever the temps are above freezing and there isn't snow on the ground. Am grateful to have found the Keen Targhee line of boots as they do not cause painful pressure on the metatarsal region and also offer decent arch support. All other brands that I have tried cause immediate pain under the met heads. These boots are not highly cushioned and for me this is a very good thing.Only four stars due to the fact that the lace hooks at the top of the lacing system are plastic and not metal.

Pros
  • I am so thankful they are truly wide boots!! I love these boots they are extremely comfortable.
Cons
  • The boot's sole is too stiff and does not offer enough flexibility
