Great but not long lasting.

Received these boots in the beginning of summer, took a. Couple weeks to break them in and they quickly became my favorite! Used them hiking, working, camping, everything where I wasn’t wearing my Sanford I had these on!But by the end of the summer, they are almost done. The sole is starting to fall off. I will try glue and see if they will get me through fall/winter but I’m a little disappointed they didn’t last longer. I really loved them!

Pros
  • Outdoor
Cons
  • The boot is too bulky to pack easily for travel

Great for hikers with bunions!

My favorite hobby is hiking, mostly off trail. Unfortunately I inherited my mother’s bunions which tend to make long hiking trips quite painful. After doing some research, this boot was recommended for those, like myself, whom suffer from hallux valgus. Right out of the box, the wide toe box that these Keen’s offer felt amazing. The boot is also fitted around the heel, which not only keeps my foot from sliding in the boot, but also provides stability. I’ve just returned from a 5 mile, off trail

Cons
  • The boot may not be suitable for long-term wear

Can't Recommend These Enough

UPDATED REVIEW 2/21/2016These boots are GREAT! They have not only lasted one trip backpacking through the Costa Rican rain forest, but two trips backpacking through the Costa Rican rain forest, two months of hiking in Hawaii, and various hikes around New England. I have also used them as winter boot substitutes because I was too frugal to justify buying more boots. I have owned these boots for three years now and have worked them very hard. Other than being colored by the clays I have hiked…

Pros
  • They fit very well and are super comfortable. Quality material and excellent workmanship.
Cons
  • The boot may not provide enough ankle support for some hikers

Love the Keen wide toebox

If you suffer from painful metatarsal issues, these mids may be the answer you are seeking. I suffer from plantar fasciitis, degenerative changes in the metatarsal area as well as several other foot problems. Had no idea how I was going to get through the winter here in New England as I live in Birkenstock and Chaco sandals whenever the temps are above freezing and there isn't snow on the ground. Am grateful to have found the Keen Targhee line of boots as they do not cause painful pressure on…

Pros
  • I am so thankful they are truly wide boots!! I love these boots they are extremely comfortable.
Cons
  • The boot's sole is too stiff and does not offer enough flexibility

Feel supportive and comfortable

Have just received these boots after having sent back a size 5.5 and 6.0 which didn't fit. I usually wear a US size 5.0 or 5.5 in a trainer on my UK size 3 foot. They were a bit short so have now gone up to a US size 6.5. They feel comfortable and supportive but so light. They are also a bit wider as well as longer but they do not feel loose and my heel stays put when walking so would seem to be a good fit. Will be wearing them to Nepal in October / November so will be able to give a better…

Still looking for good leather or suede

Not sure why but all the hiking boots are getting cheap. Leather is like its sprayed on. Such a shame especially for these, the name gets it double the price but no better than others that are much cheaper. Sent them back.

Pros
  • Hiking & Trekking
Cons
  • The laces are finicky and difficult to tie

Keens don’t disappoint

After trying the Pyrenees and finding them too stiff, I ordered these hoping for a little more flex, and I wasn’t disappointed. I have a wide foot and am dealing with metatarsalgia, so finding something comfortable and supportive was really important. They were comfortable out of the box, and my first hike with them was 6.5 miles in a medium cushion hiking sock. They were exactly what I was looking for, and what I expected from Keen- comfy, supportive but flexible, and kept my feet dry despite…

Pros
  • The lightweight design makes these perfect for day hikes or backpacking trips
Cons
  • The boot may not be suitable for hikers with thin calves

Keen as it is. for my opinion

Didn't bought is for myself, looks good.real review could be done after use.so that is why now only moderate reply.☺ The boot may not be sturdy enough for backpacking trips.

Pros
  • The Targhee 2 is designed specifically for women's feet
Cons
  • The boot may not be sturdy enough for backpacking trips

Comfortable Hike Boot

Very comfortable, did not need to break-in before hiking. I ordered up 1/2 size so that I could wear thick socks and it was a perfect fit. Toebox is great for anyone with bunions.

Pros
  • The Targhee 2 is available in multiple colors to suit your personal style
Cons
  • The boot may not be easy to break in

I bought my first pair for daily dog walking treks. I wound up wearing them all day every day for 2years. The heels finally wore down so I bought a new pair. Great boots. I stick a pair of gel inserts in them over the factory insert for extra comfort. Well made and fit great (as long as you buy a half size up from your regular street shoe size).

Pros
  • The Targhee 2 is versatile enough to wear for a variety of outdoor activities
Cons
  • The boot may be too warm for wearing in milder weather

Order half size up for length. Width is ample.

So happy with these boots and that’s saying a lot since I have so many foot problems. It’s always worrisome to buy shoes online so I’ll try to describe these best I can. First of all I won’t be making any 20 mile hikes. I’m over 70 and need boots to allow for my farm chores and bad weather, not mountain climbing, but if these work for me, how much better for those who are young and spry.I’ve overweight and my feet tend to swell quite a bit, plus I have fused big toe joints. I can no longer get…

Pros
  • The durable construction ensures long-lasting wear
Cons
  • The boot may put too much pressure on the toes

I bought these instead of Keen's Durand style for two reasons - because a previous reviewer noted the Durand weren't roomy enough (or insole removable) to accommodate different insoles AND because they were lighter in weight than the Durand style.I'm quite please so far! A few things that make them especially nice for me (but may not work for others):FIT - as recommended by almost everyone, order *at least* a 1/2 size larger than typical. I already do this in running shoes, so it was any…

Pros
  • The cushioned collar adds comfort and support to the ankle
Cons
  • The boot may be prone to scuffing or surface damage

Tough boot that fits and lasts around the stables

Like the Keen Targhee II mid than the III’s as the toe is more box like than the 3’s. Only drawbacks to the Keen’s is the rubber tread starts to peel back and risk of tripping if u drag your feet- these boots last except for the tread peeling which I take to a shoe store and they re-glue it down. Crazy glue helps also

Pros
  • The comfortable footbed prevents fatigue on longer hikes
Cons
  • The boot may not offer enough support for hikers with high arches

Quality issue best in my review

I am disappointed in this product. I have had other Keen shoes and have been great. This one started off great but after wearing the shoe three times the strap that holds the lace in broke and now it does not lace us as well as it should. I stopped wearing them in favor of other brand that has not broken on me.

Pros
  • Use for long hikes in the mountains. Sure grips. Feet stay dry.
Cons
  • The waterproofing does not always hold up in heavy rain or waterlogged terrains

Really comfortable!

I have wide feet, and these fit perfectly. No break in period required. Wore them for a long hike right out of the box and they were incredibly comfortable.

Pros
  • Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry
Cons
  • The traction is not great on slippery surfaces

Boot was too short best in my review

Even though the description said this boot is true to size, I found it to be too short. My toe rubbed the front, even when just standing. I ordered my usual size 9. Should have ordered the 9.5. Otherwise, it is a beautifully made boot.

Pros
  • The mid-height boot offers extra ankle support and stability
Cons
  • The waterproofing may wear off after extended use

Amazing hiking boots!

I’m an avid hiker, and while these boots took a few miles to break in, after hiking many miles in them over the last year, I can say they were well worth the money spent! They have been extremely comfortable and likely saved my ankles from possible injuries. I like these boots so much, I bought a second pair when I saw they were on sale!

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • The boot may feel too heavy for some hikers

I wanted to like these

These are good looking and would have worked great for hiking. I have a bunion that it rubbed and I could not wear them for long without being in pain. They went back and I got a full refund with no problems.

Pros
  • The Targhee 2 is both stylish and functional, making it a great choice for any outdoor activity
Cons
  • The boot may not be suitable for people with overpronation

Provides support. Durable. 👍 Good buy.

Keens are durable and provides support for my feet. When you add on a plantar fasciitis insole it's just heavenly. I have several pairs of keens. Sometimes you can get a good deal at Zulily.com. I bought targhees at zulily for 75.00. I place Keen along with Merrills and HOKAs. These three brands are the best for comfort especially if your on your feet for 12+ hours.

Pros
  • KEEN
Cons
  • The boot may not provide enough arch support for some hikers

Finally a boot I can wear

I was trying to find new hikers to wear as winter boots and suddenly it dawned on me that if my Keen sandals are so comfortable, why not try the hikers? I am glad I did. First off, there is plenty of room in the toes which I like as I have wide feet. They fit nice over the arch (I have a high instep and getting my feet into boots has often been a problem) and I needed something waterproof. I have not waded through slush yet but I am expecting them to hold up. The first day I wore them out was…

Pros
  • The KEEN Targhee 2 is a must-have item for any serious hiker or outdoor enthusiast
Cons
  • The boot may not provide enough protection for hikers in snake-infested areas
