UPDATED REVIEW 2/21/2016These boots are GREAT! They have not only lasted one trip backpacking through the Costa Rican rain forest, but two trips backpacking through the Costa Rican rain forest, two months of hiking in Hawaii, and various hikes around New England. I have also used them as winter boot substitutes because I was too frugal to justify buying more boots. I have owned these boots for three years now and have worked them very hard. Other than being colored by the clays I have hiked through they are still in amazing condition (even the laces)! There is no fraying of laces or the soul detaching from the shoe (which I have seen other shoes do). Can't recommend these enough.----ORIGINAL REVIEW 5/2013When I was selected to study abroad in Costa Rica I knew I had to find the right hiking boots. I spent a lot of time browsing the internet for a reasonably priced decent quality boot. The reviews on this boot were mostly positive, the price was right, and the style wasn't half bad either.These boots fit perfectly and never had to be broken in. I wear an 8.5 in women's and it was a perfect fit. I did not need to size up or down. They have also made it through a lot of weather and terrain. The two weeks I spent in Costa Rica I backpacked through the rainforest and lived with an indigenous tribe. I spent a good 6 hours a day hiking through mud, rivers, rocks, and beach. One of the two weeks I was there I had an all day, 10 hour hike. These boots kept my feet comfortable, dry, and not once got damaged despite what they have walked through. Even after my trip I wear them hiking and even use them as snow boots. I am thoroughly impressed by these boots and when the day comes to get new ones (I can't see that being any time soon) I will totally buy another pair.
