unlike the usb c to vga adapters on the market this actually works because my 2005 projector freezes completely on the new encoding and the image with the new vga adapters, unless they come directly from the laptop. Forget trying to use your phone for videos! So I use the combo video cable and component cable that this device has to convert USB-C to HDMI to video/component cable and it works perfectly! Now I can play videos from my Galaxy phone in the living room on my old but still very efficient projector. Thanks for a product that works! The only complaint is that there's a tiny hint of flicker in the video if you're looking really close, but it's not enough to get in the way of a good movie. And I don't like using the device with a different power supply. But I think it is necessary in this case.
