Part didn't work (poor QAQC)

I bought this part because it had a lifetime warranty and was intended as a direct replacement for OEM parts. When I received it I inspected it and it was almost the same (just a color difference on the outside). When I installed it hoping my rear air conditioner wouldn't burn out, I was very disappointed. And since this was a new part, I started testing other possible faults. I purchased a replacement fan motor and relay even though the original units have been tested to work. I finally went back to the resistor and did a resistance test on pins 1 and 2 which should read about 1.5k ohms. Instead, it shows as open/incomplete. Strange, I thought, since even my OEM still reads the resistor correctly (it has a blown thermal fuse). When I pulled it out of my pilot I noticed that pin 1 was plugged in. I pulled it back in with needle nose pliers and didn't think much about it. Since my OEM was dead I figured what the heck and opened it up to check. Its thermal fuse has probably blown, but I've noticed that there's a resistor running right off pins 1 and 2 that's preventing it from moving. Then I was taken to remove my new transistor. As it turned out, there was no resistance. In fact, nothing was connected to pin 1 at all, and it fell out when I opened it. It might have been a faulty QAQC but it definitely won't work unless I'm probably voiding the warranty so I returned it for a full refund.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell
