Always relied on M185 because it was so convenient. However, the loud "clicking" that could be heard throughout the home was particularly bothersome at night. When compared to the M185, one may conclude that the M220 is silent. I am really happy, and I believe others are as well. One additional disadvantage is that after 1.5 to 2 years of usage, the scroll wheel starts to "go crazy" (I cleaned it, changed the batteries, but nothing helps). Because of this, I had to replace seven mice. Following yet another incident involving the M185, I decided that it was time to look into other options. M220/M221 - same but significantly quieter. Let's wait and see how it performs over a longer period of time; I really hope that I did not pick the wrong option.
