My old iPad had a competitor's songbook case, but since the back was hard plastic, it broke in an instant. I love the look of an essay book cover so I went with this for my new iPad as it has a flexible back instead of hard plastic. It arrived very quickly and looked great without the packaging. When I installed it on my iPad, the case stood up with little difficulty as it fitted snugly. That would be nice as I knew my tablet wouldn't fall out that easily. Then, to my dismay, I saw that the edges of the case caught my protective film and the protective film had been removed from the iPad. I spent some time putting the glass screen protector back on and centering it better so it doesn't rip off. This cannot be the fault of the screen protector manufacturer or case manufacturer. It would be nice if the edge of the case were a bit bigger so that it overlaps the edges more and doesn't lie directly on the edge of the glass. I may need to switch to a screen protector as I definitely have blisters on the edge of the screen protector. Otherwise, I have no problem with placing the iPad at an angle. Time will tell if the stubbornness goes away.
