Remove and Replace Sienna Tailgate Light Assembly

As many have mentioned, it is actually the driver's side tailgate turn signal and reverse light assembly. It came with the bulbs already installed so installation was an easy task. I found the easiest way to replace was to follow a few steps that were very helpful and didn't add any more work than necessary. You will need a 10mm deep socket to remove and replace the headlight assembly. (If you want to remove the entire tailgate inner panel, which is not recommended, you will also need a Phillips screwdriver).1. Turn off the automatic tailgate close switch. That means you can manually lower it halfway for step 3.2. Remove the upper part of the panel over the rear window. Apply light but firm pressure to loosen some of the plastic inserts. There are no screws. Start at one end and work your way up.3. Remove the rear window trim on the driver's side. There are three stakes that hold it in place. It makes sense to lower the tailgate halfway to make it easier to maneuver the panel around the pivot point of the tailgate pillar. (Otherwise you will have to force it on and off, which will lengthen the hole in the panel.) 4. You should now be able to pull back the tailgate inner panel far enough to gain access to the headlight assembly without completely closing it remove. (This is useful as there are two L-shaped "hooks" at the bottom of the fairing that can easily break.) 5. Carefully disconnect the 4-pin lighting connector module.6. Remove the four 10mm nuts from the light assembly.7. Find some plastic clips to help hold the light in place while you install the assembly.8. Carefully pull out the old assembly. Repeat the process for a new build, carefully reinstalling the trim pieces and you're done.
