Next level shaving experience

Warning: This is a long review and the conclusion is that this shaver is amazing. It defies all logic and is truly a real next level shaving experience. First of all I have super sensitive skin, very thick coarse hair and have been shaving with a DE wet razor for about a year. and compares this R41 razor to the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements DOC razor, the Merkur HD 34C, the Weishi Butterfly safety razor, and the vintage Gillette three-piece razor of an unknown model from the 70's. much hair pulling, razor bumps and razor burn. No matter how much I slowed down and focused on technique, no matter what soap or cream I tried, no matter how much time I spent preparing for the shave and lather, no matter what blades I used, I had bad and not very good results ones. also shave. Having super sensitive skin I kept thinking that I should try to find a good soft razor and I looked at the Merkur 34C HD and the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements DOC Razor because they both have very positive reviews and in the Wet shaving community are very popular. For me, the Merkur 34C was almost indistinguishable from the cheap Weishi Butterfly Safety Razor and the vintage Gillette as it gave me constant razor stinging and twitching. The Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements DOC razor was a worthy improvement as it gave me far less razor burn but still had a lot of bumps on my neck and chin area (my problem areas). For those who think I shave badly with a straight razor. Merkur and PAADOC have to do with the fact that I shave ruthlessly, I also want to emphasize that when closing I do not apply pressure, but very slowly and concentrate. try the other way around and choose an "aggressive" razor and look for the Muhle R41. The best solution! I've been using it for 2 weeks now and I get NO IRRITATION, NO BREAKAGE AND A SMOOTH SHAVE. It defies all logic that an "aggressive" razor could work so well for me, but here's my theory as to why. I believe that "aggressive" is the wrong term and that it should be "effective". I only do 2 passes of R41 (one through the fibers and one over the fibers) and all the hair is gone. With other razors, I had to do 4-5 passes to get the same amount of hair out of my face. Also, this razor is heavier so I literally hold it with two fingers and slide it across my face and it cuts everything like a guillotine. Although I have tried many blades (listed below): Gillette Silver Blue, Gillette NACET, Gillette 7 o' Clock Super Platinum, Gillette 7 o' Clock Sharedge, Kai Blades, Wilkinson Sword and Personna Lab Blue. I prefer using Polsilver and Feathers blades, and Astra blades are a respectable third in my R41. The R41 needs to be changed up when holding the razor as most razors are meant to be used at about a 45 degree angle to your face and this R41 is meant to be used at about a 30 degree angle to your face, what means you're going to have to use it at a large incremental angle. I think it helps to think of it as holding the R41 at a 90-degree angle to your face, pressing the razor head against your skin, and then reducing the angle slightly. I have found that shaving with the R41 is very easy and natural when you start slow. I shave with it every day and have not cut or cut myself once in the last 2 weeks. I also noticed a significant improvement in the condition of the skin: the irritation gradually disappears. My only complaint about the R41 is the grip. I like the length and weight but they get too slippery because the knurling isn't very deep and it's more about looks than functionality. I have ordered Weber SS and PAA SS Bomb Tip grips to solve this problem and will decide what is best when they arrive soon. But if you already have a handle that you like, since it's a standard three-piece razor, just screw it on and you're good to go. All in all, if you have very sensitive skin and thick hair like me, you should definitely try R41. It's not as scary as all the reviews say and it can add years to your shave if you use it properly and are comfortable with it. It can potentially cut you if you don't handle it properly, but then again, any razor can do it. The Muhle R41 has officially become my favorite razor and I have no plans to change it any time soon.
