I have this after my pre filter and before my expensive Aqueon filters and it saves me money. I spend about a dollar every other week and only change my Aqueon filters once a month (to keep the activated carbon semi-fresh). I've noticed that my water got a little cleaner after I started using it as a medium filter media. Thru the price is hard not to recommend.
