This device works great with all the features you need to extract optical or analog (stereo) audio from an HDMI signal. It allows you to convert optical output to 2ch, 5.1ch or keep all channels as original. It also supports ARC to HDMI pass-through. Many of these device types won't work with a Fire TV flash drive (encryption?), but this works great. Yes, and the assembly of the device is very high quality. I highly recommend it when you need to extract audio from an HDMI signal for processing outside the HDMI chain.
