Nice compact travel router that needs some improvement

Review Disclosure - I received one of these devices for testing for review. The KuWfi hotspot is a decent portable hotspot for the price. It has a very slim profile that makes it travel friendly. However, the battery life leaves a lot to be desired. Pros - Works with US ATT SIM card. Couldn't get the Verizon CDMA card to work - Connection speeds varied - I was able to get download speeds of 5-10Mbps, which is a bit slower than what I would get with the same SIM card used with a Samsung phone is connected - the setup immediately thought that the user interface could be improved (see below) - boot speed is decent - about 20-30 seconds - charging via micro USB is very convenient (no additional adapters required) Cons - battery life is very short, 2 to 3 hours. Doesn't hold a charge well so if you don't use it for a while it will run out of power - Device gets very hot - SIM card needs to be removed from battery - It would be better if there was an external hotspot for quick SIM change while traveling - Clumsy user interface - LED indicators are not very useful. Would have preferred something to measure remaining battery life. - Battery compartment difficult to open. Miscellaneous - The device has an SD card slot, but there is no support. Not sure what this is used for. If you could use that for a "wireless drive" it would really improve that hotspot. - Would prefer the hotspot to turn on automatically when connected to the charger. Conclusion This is a good travel hotspot. It's small and light so you don't need to add it to your travel kit. Once you set up the device, everything works without any problems. There are some software fixes that can significantly improve, most notably SD card compatibility. I hope they add this in a firmware update one day.
