A sharp gift! Best Sharpening Stone

This is a fantastic sharpening set! The rationale is that you start with a lower grit number, in this case 800, to bring the blades back to their base sharpness. You wet the grindstone and slowly work your way up from 800 to the maximum available score. When you get to the top, you've brought down the sharpest razor blades. The grinding process corrodes and wears away microscopic layers of metal and can leave an unsightly appearance on the side of the blade, so you end up wiping it off. versus a leather belt that buffs and removes any remaining burrs from the buffing process. If at any point your stones become pitted, there is a whetstone that is used to re-level the surface of the whetstone. I used a pair of blades and sharpened it with the included 20 degree shim to give it the correct sharpening angle for optimal blade edge and then sanded it down with a belt. As a result, the blade is nice and sharp, even sharper than in the box. I've wanted one of these for years and this one delivers! The wooden stand holds the bricks at a 10 degree angle for a more ergonomic approach. This set is a great gift for any knife owner.
