Review on Lepai LP 168HA 40 Watt Amplifier Output by Mercedes Partridge

I bought one of these for an arcade build I'm making. The first came in a pimply envelope with minimal lining. Upon opening, the box was found to be broken and all the contents leaked out; However, the product itself was not damaged. Stereo speakers sounded normal after connection. maybe a little tinny and sizzling, but not that bad. The biggest problem is the subwoofer. The volume of the subwoofer turns on and off with each setting. Above 10% the subwoofer starts to distort a lot. In fact, I might even damage my submarine. The crossover does not work at all. When you knock on the amp itself, it sends noise through the speakers and subwoofer. I sent it back and, thinking it was an accident, bought another one. Exactly the same problem: poor padding in the case, spilled contents inside, and the same issues with the subwoofer (cropping, distortion, crossover not working). This is complete nonsense. I don't know how it got positive reviews. The stereo speaker part might work well, but people buy it to drive a powered subwoofer that just doesn't work. This is a lemon product.
