Review on Cloverdale 33437 Band It Edge Trimmer by Mark Fleming

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Useful and economical way to cut veneer

This item should be used with caution (AVOID rushing when trimming raised veneer edges; periodically check for grain direction changes and adjust by using change your direction of travel). If you do the above (like I did after watching some internet videos on applying and trimming veneers) you shouldn't have any problems. Two additional things you MUST consider before purchasing and using this tool: 1) The razor will dull QUICKLY - this isn't a problem if you're only cutting a short section of veneer edge, but if you're cutting more than say two feet ( 6 feet), it's probably a good idea to buy extra blades and change them often. 2) When cutting an overhang from a small outside radius, it may not effectively follow the curve and produce a clean/clean cut, especially if the radius ends close to a vertical column or shape. In this situation you will need to trim the veneer (very carefully and methodically) by sanding or planing.
