Review on πŸ”§ INTOO Forstner Wood Drill Set - 8pcs by Shane Schobinger

Not very sharp - electric drill parts and accessories

I've only used them on one project: installing a thumb latch on my new fence gate. I had to drill 1/2" diameter holes through a 2x4 attached to a fence board so the actual overall thickness was 2 + 1/8" pressure treated pine. Not sure if it was the right type of wood but I was expecting it to chew that soft wood like butter but that wasn't my experience at all. It took a while to start and when it did it was very slow and I had to press really hard to get it to work. in some places the firewood burned down, but fortunately you never see that. Then I had to drill a second hole next to the first one, it kept slipping. I admit I'm new to woodworking projects so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on bits but I will definitely see them updated in the future if I use them often enough and my goal is to keep up with my crafting of cabinets and moving forward furniture. If you think you will need them often / have a higher skill level I would spend the money on a better set. I didn't wait that long to use them, I would return them if I could. In the end, they coped with the task, but with great difficulty.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Long delivery time
