My son, who skateboards, uses this helmet for that, and biking. He likes that it is a lightweight helmet that doesn't throw off his balance like other helmets and the ventilation slits that are not found in many helmets. He also likes the look of the helmet.and he's picky about style. As a mom, I like safety certifications. However, the padding inside is minimal. Would have given 5 stars if better.or thicker.padding inside. Other skateboarding parents showed me how to add additional padding without compromising fit of the helmet. Would work better if company allowed for detachable padding to make it easier to add another thicker layer inside the helmet and change out as needed (sweat factor). However, my son said it rinses out and dries well.
