After installing it on the hood, when I went to attach it and weld, I immediately regretted it. weld with her. I've heard some people complain about this and I've experienced it too. It's not scary, but it's noticeable, especially when you notice it, lol. It adds a little weight and it's harder to keep it from falling off if you're not welding and still carrying it. I have a Jackson headjoint that I attached to it so it doesn't have a latch position, not sure if the original metal fiber headjoint had a latch. It's fine to take it off and use a regular clear face shield, but to be honest I'd rather use a clear face shield if I'm exercising for more than a few minutes than flipping the lens. I'm a pipe fitter, so we grind and bevel pipes and fittings a lot. So if you use it for most of the day I wouldn't recommend it for more than a few minutes of grinding. It's really more for someone who does a very quick touch up with a grinder and doesn't want to switch to a face shield. The install is messy, you'll get black fiberglass resin all over the place so keep that in mind and your cuts won't be very pretty, at least mine wasn't lol, but it fits decently, just cut out the whole square/rectangle I just got took a black marker around the edges and a dremel with a cutting wheel and then sanded 4 notches in the cowl that hold the original plastic clip. Just be aware of the extra weight it adds and know you can't flip it if you don't like it!
