This is an inexpensive espresso machine that is easy to use, even for beginners. The bottom grille is metal and there is enough clearance from the tray to hold a regular sized coffee mug. It is designed for double servings and you can use almost any coffee grinder. I've tried the more expensive Italian ground beans as well as the standard American ground with no significant difference, just a slight difference in the main flavor/drink. There is no regulation of the water supply, which is the only downside to this machine as it has to be turned off fairly quickly to get an espresso-like drink. To take a single shot you have to turn it off in literally seconds. The steam wand works well, I've found better results with whole milk. It can be easily dismantled for cleaning. The water tank is big enough that you don't have to fill it up every day unless you drink a lot of coffee. Vibration is easily eliminated with a tailored mouse pad (such as a computer) underneath, which significantly reduces noise. Or maybe try to glue the rubber seals? It's a surprise overall, but since I'm craving an intensely flavored espresso with lots of cream, I'll probably replace it with something that lets me control the water flow.
