Review on ๐ŸŽง Sennheiser IE 80 S Black Adjustable Bass Earbud Headphones by Chris Bowden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

For audiophiles who love bass and soundstage

I am a huge Sennheiser fan and have had many of their mid to high end products. I had original IE8s, IE80s and ie80s sharing the sound with them. The Good: Tireless sound, amazing soundstage, comfort and classic Sennheiser warmth. Great for bass lovers, it hits deep and the mid bass doesn't encroach on other areas. Vocals have sparks and high frequencies are never harsh. Cons: Adjusting the bass will muffle and bloat sounds in the headphones. The mids are a little too relaxed and don't offer much isolation. Earplugs make a big difference in sound. The standard ear cups offer the best sound and largest soundstage, while the foam ear tips dampen most of the ie80s's power. Compared to similarly priced Armature-based headphones like the Westone W40, the ie80s' single dynamic driver is slow and lacks power. Details in the middle and high frequencies. But the bass on it is excellent and detailed and textured.

Pros
  • Rugged body and durable interchangeable cable with Sennheiser's famous 2-pin connector for customization
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.
