Review on 60-Minute Chef Timer by Fox Run by Tamara Palmer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bird in Motion is best in thermometers and timers

I have tried several mechanical kitchen timers. I came to the conclusion that they don't make them the way they used to. I had a classic car that lasted twenty years, but everything I've bought since has broken down within a few months. I think the mechanism isn't much different than anything else. It's accurate enough (but obviously not as accurate as an electronic timer). I haven't had it long enough to judge its long-term durability. Like most mechanical timers, you must wind it up fully and then turn it on for the desired time interval. I wonder how many bad reviews about mechanical kitchen timers are because users don't. The alarm clock will ring for about five seconds. The volume is slightly above average, but not as loud as the last one I bought (Taylor stainless steel mechanical timer, ASIN: B001U21Q78). The timer I bought will time out at the 1 minute mark and then continue counting down to zero. It's okay, it's easy to compensate. Bought this one because it is. Chicken. Apart from the appearance, it hardly differs from other mechanical timers.

Pros
  • DIMENSIONS: This timer weighs 3.2 ounces and measures 2.5 x 2.25 x 4 inches.
Cons
  • Almost everything included
