takes too long to read in liquid and soil, but in soil it's a coin toss if it does anything. For example I have a 7.5 and 4.5 ph environment, this thing will sit in either one and call it 7.0 but sometimes it gives the right reading. $10 Pen in Fluid Speed Reading. Didn't even think of sticking a regular pH pen straight into the environment, but it works and is way faster than this thing every time. Just make sure that good calibration comes naturally with this product. It's a joke, maybe I'd be happy if I just had a regular Bluelab PH pen and knew I'd just pop it in a Wednesday. This is the only Blue Lab product I have used and will not be buying another because of it. My media is always wet enough to take measurements, my regular pen takes measurements.
