Review on Schumacher DSR118 Handheld Battery Charger by Amrozi Goodall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works, feels solid.

My Camaro battery was dead and I had 1 regular charger/AGM charger and 2 new small chargers designed to regenerate completely dead batteries. I mainly use the small ones for chargers. No one would charge a dead battery in my 2010 Camaro, and the battery is only a few months old. The tester showed less than 2%, so I bought this best pro series charger. As soon as I connected the positive and negative cables from the charger to the battery, the alarm went off in the car, which is a good sign. I even managed to open the trunk and doors with the remote control. I charged the DSR 118, after about a minute I heard a click indicating charging had started. Let the charger charge the battery for 7 hours and it showed 100% and the car started. I was able to start it using the DSR 118's quick start function, but wanted to charge the battery more slowly. The only weird thing I didn't notice was that the charger said 95% when charging and it was less than 2%. If it works, that's important to me. The quick launch feature will come in handy. Let's examine a car that has stood still for more than a year. This charger is also heavy, not like a battery but doesn't feel cheap. The display you press the buttons on is not of the quality I could find, it feels like thin flexible plastic and can come loose over time. Would buy again.
