Review on πŸ”‡ Jabra SP700 Speakerphone with Bluetooth Connectivity (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Daniel Mandal

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works with iPhone 3.0

I have previously purchased 2 of these units from Costco for about $70 each and have been using them for about 3 months. I was pleased to learn that this unit is now available through Revain for about half the price and I have just bought a 3rd unit for my mum. I used to use a device with a built in speaker as the sound quality from the FM station was pretty crappy. .With the latest firmware update of my iPhone 3G to version 3.0, my iPhone now supports A2DP. I'm happy to report that the device now works very well with the iPhone. The built-in speaker is fine, but the unit really shines when you set it to play through your car speakers via the built-in FM transmitter. The sound quality is FM quality (ie a bit fuzzy compared to the crystal clear "CD quality") and an order of magnitude better than other FM stations I've used. There is practically no noise and the music sounds very nice. I had no problems with the volume. Now I can listen to songs/playlists on my iPhone and podcasts while driving which is amazing. If there are calls, they will automatically take precedence over whatever is playing. The battery life is just amazing. I only loaded once. It is more or less intuitive to use. The iPhone doesn't have voice calls, so you still need to initiate calls from the iPhone. However, answering calls is fairly easy (single press on the front of the device). The device announces the dialed phone number so you can focus on the road. Being able to listen to my music and podcasts on the way to work is definitely worth €30 and is great value for me.
