Review on Culligan US EZ 4 EZ Change Undersink Filtration by Jay Lopez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great filter when installed correctly.

I've looked through a range of water filters on Revain and haven't been able to find a clear winner. These things come with huge swings in price and complexity, and valuations are all but the most expensive. I chose this one because of the price and simplicity. My short review is that it works great, my water tastes good and meets my needs. More detailed answer. As usual, if you have a product that you need to install yourself, there are a lot of people who give it 1 star and report defects. Most of the complaints about this product are related to leaks, and most people seem to blame it on the inferior hardware that comes with it. All gear is plastic and while I wouldn't call it 'heavy duty', it's good enough to handle a thin, low-pressure waterline. Don't forget about the low price either. If you feel like you need all the metal parts and a quality faucet, there are plenty of more expensive options. The unit also only comes with a 1/2" line connection, which should be specified in the description. If you have a different size you will need to make a trip to the hardware store. I would say that most issues with those the people are facing are: - Over tightening - Incorrect cutting of the hose that comes with the device You just have to tighten them well and tighten by hand and then turn them a bit more with a wrench The device comes with a hose that has to be cut You must cut it with a utility knife or other sharp blade. Scissors or similar compression wire cutters may cause the tubing to collapse when cut. This tubing must remain round and the end must be trimmed to ensure a good seal .Chances are your existing cold water hose has been on for a few years. The rubber gasket i A fitting can fall apart, harden, or simply conform to the shape of the pipe it has been connected to for so long and will not make a good connection with anything else. Here's what happened to mine. I had a major leak after assembling this thing for the first time. Do yourself a favor and simply replace the hose when you install it. They're $5-10 and you could probably use a new one anyway. After that, mine seals perfectly. Bottom line: take your time, read the instructions, do it right, and you've got a good, leak-free filter. ***Update: It's been a year since I installed this and there hasn't been a single issue. Looks and works the same as the day I bought it.
