Overall: Punch is excellent for punching 18 gauge steel or thinner, better than drilling. The tool feels sturdy due to the weight and design of the tool. Definitely recommend this for thinner steel. Details: The tool works well when piercing 18 gauge black steel, but doesn't work at all when piercing 16 gauge steel, just making dimples in the steel no matter how hard you push. Punch exactly where I marked on the steel. The hole is clean after punching, very little if any deburring is required.
