Low light and high privacy

Where I live, people tend to walk past my window at random times. It sucks when you just want to feel like you have your own space. I usually have the curtain closed all the time, but after a while it just gets gloomy. Decided to try these. I was looking for something personal but still gives some light. I bought several of these and can say they worked great and were easy to install. It lets in enough light to create a comfortable feeling in the room, but at the same time no one can see. For the installation you just have to read and follow the instructions. It comes with a squeegee and instructions, so all you need to provide is soap and water or, like me, glass cleaner and a spray bottle. I simply measured what I needed, cut the film, washed the windows, applied excess glass cleaner and sprayed copious amounts of water from a spray bottle on both the window and the film (from the side I applied to the window). I applied the film from left to right and used the squeegee to apply the film as I went. After you put it where you want, you can squeeze out the bubbles. It's important that you have plenty of water to begin with as this will help you move the foil to adjust during the process and will allow you to squeeze the bubbles out at the end. You want to crop them slightly smaller than the window you're applying them to to leave a slight border. It doesn't fit snugly around the edges, and when you have windows like mine, there's old paint and silicon residue around the edges, so you need that edge. Don't worry, everything will look fine in the end. Just read the guide to the end as it explains it. Just take your time and measure everything. If you haven't heard it a thousand times, I still say: Measure twice and cut once. It may be silly, but it's very true. If you need to make adjustments, don't be afraid to take it off either. It's more like sticking to the window when you put them on than stickers. Pros: - Passes light but not casual observers. - Etched glass film goes well with my decor. Cons: - No, so far I like these things.
