I've seen some people say they use weights and they don't stand up. I had no problem adjusting the blinds, although I was planning on adjusting mine to my window. All you have to do to flatten them is DO NOT use weights, just roll them back up and let them sit for a couple of hours, after which they'll be straight as a board. I rolled mine back into the curve they got from their position and put them back in the box. I used a razor blade to trim mine to the right length and they came out great. I only replaced 6 of them. I leave the rest in place in case the renter needs them but they seem to be more durable than my originals and you can't even tell from the picture which 6 I replaced.
