You were sent incorrectly. In all three boxes, the part that will hang below is twisted inside and completely, and the part that will be on top is on the outside of the curl. This means that the lower part is denser. If it were the other way around, ordinary physics would tell you that the bottom of the beam would be straighter and the top would hang straighter due to the weight of the following.
